Obituary for William C. Biggs

William C. Biggs, age 88 of Ansonia, died Monday December 24, 2007 at his home.  Born in Ansonia on April 7, 1919, son of the late John J. and Anna Bresnan Biggs, he was employed as a business office clerk at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford.  Bill was not only a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, he was the head usher/greeter for most of his adult like at the 7:30 a.m. Mass.  A Grand Knight in 1970 to 1972 fro the Valley Council Knights of Columbus 23, he also throughut the years served as treasurer and financial secretary  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the Gordon Visselli American Legion Post 50 and the Joseph A. Doyle Senior Center.  Bill is survived by one sister Lillian A. O'Donnell of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews.  He was predecesed by one brother, John J. Biggs.  Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N.Cliff Street, Ansonia and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m.in the Church or the Assumption.  His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. in the church.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Church of the Assumption Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
