Obituary for Helena Danielecki Carpp

Helena A. Carpp, 87, of Seymour, wife of the late Alexander Carpp, passed away peacefully peacefully on Feb. 23, 2010 at Griffin Hospital Derby. She was born in Ansonia Oct. 4, 1922 daughter of the late Antoinette (Pietkiewicz) and Benjamin Danielecki. She graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She served as a registered nurse for over 40 years, first serving during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S.Army Corps of Nursing in the Philippines and Japan, then at Griffin Hospital. She also served on the CT State Board of Nursing Examiners. She retired from Griffin in 1984. She and her husband Al also owned and operated the U.N.I. Restaurant in Ansonia for 27 years before his death in 1976. Survivors include two sons, Alexander (Oley) and his wife Glenda of Worcester Mass. and Edward and his wife Sallie of Raleigh, NC; 3 grandchildren Robert Carpp, Nicole Simpson and Emilie Carpp; and 4 great-grandchildrenm James and Gabrielle Simpson and Ashley and Robbie Carpp. She was predeceased by two sisters Maryu Chjmura and Henrietta Danielecki and two brothers Edward Danielecki and Benjamin Daniels.
