Obituary for Mattie Emanuel Antrum
Mattie Antrum, wife of the late Irving Antrum, departed this life on December 25, 2009. Mattie was born January 12, 1916 in Bennettsville, S.C., the daughter of the late Samuel and Chanie Emanuel. Shortly after moving to Ansonia as a young woman, along with her husband and children, she joined the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. S he leaves to mourn her passing one son, John Antrum and his wife Lillian; one daughter Dorothy Mazon and her husband Larri; one grandson Jeffrey Bruce; granddaughter Nina Antrum; step granddaughter, Lisa Samuels; great-grandchildren, Rashai, Simone, Sierra, Romello and Jayden; loving nieces, Mary Clay, Arthurine Cobb, Sheila Antru, Audrey Miles; grand niece Alia; grandnephews Derek, Jerome, Scott and Christopher; and several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
