Obituary for Lucille Niles

Lucille Allard Niles, age 98, beloved wife of the late Alva Niles, passed away on November 16 2020 in Las Cruces, NM.

Lucille was born on March 12, 1922 in Bridgeport, graduated from Connecticut College for Women, and worked as an interior designer with Lillian August for decades, often partnering with her husband Alva who was an architect. Lucy loved anything French – fashion, cooking, champagne, and she became a dedicated student of the language when she retired, delighting her class at the Westport Senior Center with her stories and lavish Christmas parties. She was celebrated by all who knew her for her magnificent style.
Survived by her son Peter Niles in Las Cruces NM, her son in law, Arvid Brandstrom, of Easton, and her 3 grandchildren Kelly, Alexandra and Christina. In addition to her husband Alva, she was predeceased by her 6 brothers: Robert, Edward, Kenneth , Roger, Norman and Arthur who was killed in World War II.
A private funeral will be held on Saturday, February 20th, at 11 a.m. Friends may join her family in celebrating Lucille's life virtually.
