Obituary for CAROL ANN FATINO

Carol A. Fatino, 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2021. Carol was born on April 20, 1946 to the late Francis D. and Myrle M. Lloyd in Des Moines, Iowa. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: Joseph L. Fatino.

Carol is survived by her two sons, John (Karen) and Jim, six grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Tony, Vincent, Louis, and Veronica, along with many nieces and nephews. Carol had a long career in the health insurance and health care industries ranging from Dairyland Insurance, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and the Iowa Insurance Commission (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) (and from where she ultimately retired). Carol also enjoyed spending the summers at Twin Anchors near Colo, Iowa for the last 34 years. Before arthritis got the better of her fingers, she enjoyed quilting and playing the piano. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol graduated from East High. Carol was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jacqueline. She is survived by her brother, Francis E. Lloyd.

Visitation will occur at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Boulevard, Des Moines on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 9:30 A.M. with a mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The funeral Mass will be live streamed starting at 10:15 am Thursday on the website www.IlesCares.com
