Obituary for ALICE OLEATHA GROGAN

IN LOVING MEMORY

ALICE O. CAMPBELL WEIDNER GROGAN
MAY 10, 1938----JANUARY 31, 2021

Alice was born on May 10,1938 to John and Lucille (Beguin) Campbell at 600 SW Park Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Des Moines Technical High Scholl in 1956. Alice married Duane R. Weidner in Des Moines on January 17, 1958, who preceded her in death, and they had one son, Michael Duane in 1958.

Alice later met Charles A. Grogan, and they were married in May 1,1965. Alice and Charles moved to Michigan residing in Farwell, Cadillac, Manton for the next 47 years before returning to Des Moines area in 2012, residing in Pleasant Hill. Alice and Charles adopted sixteen other children together ?

Alice had many jobs in Des Moines including Underwriters Adjustment/ Dun & Bradstreet, Adventureland and working at the Iowa State Fair. In Michigan, Alice enjoyed working at the Cadillac Evening News, Mercy Hospital, Cadillac Area Public Schools, and Meijer .

Alice loved her home, and family, good friends, (past and present). Alice and Charles have been blessed to have LeAnya with them during their Golden Years.

Alice enjoyed some travels with family, especially out West and Branson, Missouri. She enjoyed hiking and walks. Alice's favorite season was Spring and favorite reading was the Bible. Alice will be remembered for her "tea" , "popcorn " and "Skip-Bo".

Alice's greatest joy came in finding, along with Charles a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in July 1966. Together they learned of His wonderful love, forgiveness, and reconciliation as they strove to know Him and serve Him.

A favorite verse and prayer of Alice's was III John verse 4 "My greatest joy is to know my children walk in Truth" and John 14:6 " I am the Way the Truth and the Light...."

Alice and Charles enjoyed good Bible teachings and fellowship with members of Temple Hill Baptist Church (Cadillac, MI), Rollins Christian Fellowship Church (Manton, MI) and Grace Community Church in Pleasant Hill, IA.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents John A Campbell and Lucile Irene Beguin, siblings John Charles Campbell and Ritabel Rae Elliott, husbands Duane R. Weidner, Charles A. Grogan and son Matthew A Grogan.

Alice is survived by her children Michael D.W. Grogan, Mark Steve Grogan , Timothy Charles Grogan, Rebecca Susan Grogan, Kimberly Kay Sherwood, Alicia Rochanna Nkugba, LaShunda Lee Bryant, LaWanda Lee Grogan, LaTasha Katrina Grogan, Noah Raphael Grogan, Alex Gabriel Grogan, Nathan Andrew Grogan, Tyler James Grogan, Zachary Thomas Grogan, Ashleigh Irene Grogan, Kathryn Rita Grogan and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Burial will be February 3, 2021 @ 1 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, Des Moines Iowa. A Celebration of life is to be scheduled at later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Life Resources of Northern Michigan.
