Obituary for Elizabeth Baldwin Dearborn

Elizabeth Baldwin Dearborn, 83, wife of the late John Bartholomew Dearborn of South Hadley, MA and former longtime Ansonia resident, died Monday May 26, 2008 at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA after a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1924 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Irving and Helen Drew Baldwin. She graduated from Ansonia High School in 1941 and was a member of The Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia where she was also a former member of the Church Vestry. She attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, as well as the Yale School of Music. She served as directory of the Ansonia Public Library, the Julia Day Nursery and the Homemaker Association. Elizabeth was a lifelong Ansonia resident before moving to Loomis Village Retirement Community in South Hadley in 2003. She is survived by her son John B. Dearborn and his wife Betsy of Ansonia; two daughters Cynthia Dearborn of South Hadley, MA and Elizabeth Novinsky and her husband John of Holyoke, MA. She leaves three grandchildren, Pamela D. Novinsky, Paul J. Novinsky and John A. Dearborn; a niece and four nephews. In addition to her husband, Joh, she was predeceased by her brother Frederick Drew Baldwin. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home of Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
