Obituary for John A. Curtis Sr.

John A. Curtis, Sr., age 65, of Ansonia, entered into peaceful rest on Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby.  He was the beloved husband of Anne (Virzi) Curtis.  He was born September 27, 1941 in Derby, loving son of Edith (Jagun) Curtis of Seymour and the late Wilfred Curtis.  John resided in Ansonia 45 years and was a communicant of Christ Episcopal Church.  He was the owner of Cross River Cabinetry of Oxford which he started in  1986.  john was a former employee of TI.E. Communications in Shelton.  He held a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Fairfield University.  He was an avid NASCAR Racing fan, and enjoyed camping.  Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his loving family including a son John A Surtis, Jr. and his wife Tina of Seymour; two daughters, Nancy Kazmierski and her husband James of Charlotte, N.C. and Suzanne Butkievich and her husband Daniel, of Oxford, five granchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends; John also leaves a special borther-in-law Joseph Virzi and his wife June of Ansonia.  He also leaves a brother-in-law John Virzi and his wife, Patriia of Orange.  His brother-in-aw Frank Virzi predeceased him  Funeral servies will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to Christ Episcopal Church, 56 South Cliff Street, Ansonia for a service of Requiem Eucharist at 10 a.m   Intrment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to all Thursday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.  Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Jude Children' Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For diections to the funeral home and to epress condolences online go to wwwhullfh.com.
