Obituary for Lillian Cope Tingley

Lillian Cope Tingley, 91, of Ansonia, died Saturday February 9, 2008 at Griffin Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edwin Stannard Tingley. Daughter of the late William and Eliza Barber Cope, she was born in Ansonia October 18, 1916. She graduated from Ansonia High School and the Stone Business School,and was employed by the American Brass Co. Ansonia for many years before her marriage. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ansonia where she taught Sunday school for many years and served on various boards. She was also a member of The Ells=Wood Rebekah Lodge, No. 9, IOFF. She is survived by a niece Margaret Tucker Monnie and her husband William of Stow, MA; a nephew Walter B. Tucker Jr. and his wife Marietta of Hamden, a grand-nephew William Tucker Monnie of Manchester, N.H.; three ste-children, Thomas Tingley of N.H. & Naples, Fla., Anita (Mrs. Ralph) DeAngelo of Hamburg, PA and Arthur Tingley of Derby, Anita's daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Dennis) Lynch and Michelle (Mrs. Lloyd) Reinart and grandchildren, Julie Lynch and Calvin Reinart. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Cope and Marjorie Cope Tucker of Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements. Lillian was buried privately in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
