Obituary for Mrs. Ruth A. Lentz

Our loving mother, Ruth Anna Reindollar Lentz, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 94. Born on November 29, 1926 in York, PA., Ruth was the second youngest sibling of nine children whose parents were the late Bertha (Sell) and George Reindollar. Ruth was the last surviving member of this extensive loving family and was predeceased by 5 sisters, Florence Reindollar, Helen Haare, Pearl Mumma, Nadine Reiber, Mary Summers, and 3 brothers, Chester, Francis and Carroll Reindollar. Additionally, she was predeceased by her son, Michael.
Ruth graduated from William Penn HS in 19M45 and continued her education at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated at the top of her class in 1948 with a degree in Nursing. Upon graduation, Ruth began a stellar career as a registered nurse and became a member of the Army Cadet Nurse Corps.
Ruth married Arthur H. Lentz on June 29, 1949. They had 5 children, Steven (Cathie), Michael (Connie) , Larry, Jane (Steve) and Mark (Beth). Ruth is survived by 3 sons, one daughter, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to raising and caring for their extensive family, Ruth and Art owned and operated the Central Bowling Lanes in York from 1972 until it's sale in 1980.
Ruth was a faithful member of Bethany UCC and their Women's Guild. After Bethany UCC merged with Faith UCC in July 2007, Ruth became a regular attendee and worshiped there until she moved to Autumn House West in 2019.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, Jan 15, 2021 at 11 am. Pastor Ron Oelrich of Faith UCC, will conduct the service at Greenmount Cemetery, 721 Carlisle Ave. in York, Pa Those attending should meet at the gate of the cemetery by 10:45 am.
