Obituary for William F. Spurr

William "Bill": Frederick Spurr, died May 29, 2008 at University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington. He was the husband of Grace Crossland Spurr. Sone of John H Spurr and Ednas Mahn Spurr, he was born April 8,k 1922 in Weymouth, MA. Mr. Spurr was educated at Northeastern University in Boston where he earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering. A lifelong employee of Kaman Corp. in Bloomfield, he worked as an engineer often traveling to Europe on various projects. He also was an avid participant in both the Kaman golf club and ski club. Mr. Spurr married Grace Crossland of Ansonia in 1951; the first couple to be married in the newly constructed Methodist Church on Franklin Street in Ansonia. Besides his wife, survivors include his brother Gus of Sarasota, FL.; his sister Rhoda Greenlaw and her husband Donald of Naples, FL; his nephew and niece Jack Spurr and his wife Kay of Scituate, MA and Carol Rash and her husband, Joseph of Windsor, CA; his siter-in-law Elizabeth Matricaria of Avon and her children, Elizabeeth hutchinson of Bridgton, Maine, Aalia Kusmis of Sanbornton, NH and Sharon Kelly of Avon and many nieces and nephews. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home Ansonia handled the arrangements. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
