Obituary for Katherine DeWitt Nicholls Brown

Katherine D. Nicholls Brown, 97, wife of the late Frederick Nicholls and Harry Brown, died March 27, 2010 at Griffin Hospital. She was born February 19, 1913 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Keller DeWitt. Katherine was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Ansonia where she was a member of the Episcopal Church Women, she also was the church organist for many years and played for various other church's. She served as secretary for Chirst Church and worked as bookkeeper for Hallocks of Derby. She also worked as secretary for the Y.M.C.A. in Ansonia and worked for many years at the Derby Senior Center. Katherine is survived by two daughters, Diane N. Gray and her husband, William of Ansonia and Joan Waldorf and her husband Earl of Seymour; one sister, Addibelle Lovett of Shelton; four stepchldren, Deborah, David, Douglas and Roger Brown; four grandcjhildren, four great-grandchldren and 10 step grandchildren. in addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her sister Eloise Fine and brother Frank DeWitt. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.>>
