Obituary for Peter S. Cherhoniak

Peter S. Cherhoniak, 82, beloved husband of Marie D'Alexander Cherhoniak of Seymour, died March 17, 2008 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Seymour on October 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Samuel and Esther Cherhoniak. Mr. Cherhoniak was a lifelong resident of Seymour and member of Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, Ansonia. For 40 years, he was the owner and operator of "Pete's Canteen", the food concessions at the Farrel Company's Executive Offices, Derby and Ansonia Plants. He is survived by a daughter, Karen Lefevre and her husband, Arthur of Seymour and Denise Tracy and her husband, Randy of PA; grandchildren, Christine Dufour and her husband Jason of Wolcott, Wayne Hoyt of Bristol, Randy Tracy, Jr. of PA and a cherished great-grandson, Wyatt Dufour of Wolcott. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Stephen and Charles Cherhoniak and sisters, Mary Phipps, Eve Zwanch and Ann O'Grodnick. A funeral service will be held in Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church Ansonia on Wednesday March 19, 2008. Interment will be in Pine Gorve Cemetery Ansonia. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements.
