Obituary for Esther Plaskon Gaidosz

Esther Plaskon Gaidosz, age 90 of Derby, beloved wife of the late Samuel Gaidosz, died August 4, 2014 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 16, 1924 in Shelton, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Zawidniak Plaskon. Mrs. Gaidosz was an amazing homemaker, seamstress, chef, and an avid gardener. She will be long remembered for her ability to draw people into her world, enriching their lives with her unconditional love. She is survived by her devoted children John Gaidosz and his wife Jo-Ann and Kathleen Gruttadauria and her husband Joseph, all of Derby; sisters Eve Gnall and her husband George, Olga Draus, and Rose Soncarato; brother-in-law Edward Walker; cherished grandchildren Joseph Gruttadauria, III and his fiancée Aubrey Beaudoin and David Gruttadauria; Godchildren Laura Lee (Soncarato) Bunosso and Gail (Gnall) Briggs; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 49 years, Mrs. Gaidosz was predeceased by Andrew and Dolly Plaskon, Mae and Walter Kuzia, Ann and Michael Walker, Lillian Walker, Joseph Soncarato, and Stanley Draus. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation for the compassionate care extended to their mother in her time of need, especially to BeBe, who lovingly cared for her two years. Funeral Services, MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, (TODAY), from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
