Obituary for Mr. Thomas E. Davidson

Thomas Ellhanan Davidson, Sr., 87, of Kutztown, formerly of Wayne, Thorndale and White Haven, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Adele B. (Vickers) Davidson, who died August 6, 2015. Born in Bryn Mawr, Thomas was a son of the late Raymond and Mary Lucinda (Barr) Davidson.

Thomas honorably and faithfully served his country during the Korean War as a U.S. Marine. He worked as a Mechanic for several companies including Heil Equipment Co., Conshohocken, PA. Most recently, Thomas was the owner and operator of a cleaning service until his retirement.

Thomas was a member and dedicated volunteer fire fighter for Radnor Fire Company, Wayne, PA for many years, where he was an engineer and ran the pumper truck. He also enjoyed woodworking, making stained glass, crafting and was an avid reader, especially Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler novels.

Thomas is survived by his three children, Virginia L. “Ginny” Davidson, Kutztown, Timothy E., husband of Nancy (Lodge) Davidson, Daytona Beach, FL, and Theodore E. Davidson, companion of Sarah A. Cassidy, East Norriton, Montgomery Co.; sister, Dolores J. “Duckie” (Davidson) Badman, Kutztown; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas was predeceased by two sons, Thomas E. Davidson, Jr., and Ellis Davidson; sisters, Virginia (Davidson) Martin and Dorothy J. (Davidson) Fronheiser, and a brother, Raymond Davidson.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, followed by a memorial service to honor and celebrate Thomas’s life at 11:00 a.m.with Rev. Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Military honors by The United States Marine Corps. Honor Guard will conclude the services. Burial will be held privately. Current CDC guidelines regarding gathering size limitations and social distancing will be enforced and masks will be required.
