Obituary for Gary S. Clark

 

It is with great sadness that the loved ones of Gary S. Clark, of Chichester, PA, share news of his passing. On Monday, July 20th, at the age of 52, Gary passed away suddenly while in Cape May, NJ. Gary graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 1986, and later attended the Automotive Training Center in Exton, PA for auto repair certification courses. During young adulthood, Gary worked at the Clark Exxon in Woodlyn with his father and brother. After working at Exxon for several years, Gary went on to start a new business in 1993. He was the owner of Clark’s Tire and Auto service in Swarthmore for 27 years.

Gary was a huge sports fan. His two favorite sports were baseball and football. During his youth, he was a great baseball player and played for many local teams. Gary collected sports memorabilia, including a vast collection of trading cards. At one point, he owned a sports memorabilia shop in Glenolden, PA. While not working, Gary enjoyed spending time at the shore with his family and friends. He made friends everywhere he went. Gary loved his children dearly. He was often heard talking about their accomplishments and made it clear that they were his pride and joy. Anyone who knows Gary will know that he will be deeply missed by many.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine (Blais)Clark; his uncle David L. Vita; and his cousin David M. Vita.

Gary is survived by his sons Nicholas, Christian, and Jayden; his father Joseph Jr; his uncle Frank Yeager; his aunt Lois (Blais) Vita; his sister Dawn–Marie; his brother Timothy, spouse Melissa and their children Carley, Callie and Collin;his cousin Christine (Vita) Tini, spouse Nicholas, and their daughter Gina; his girlfriend Nicole and her children John and Aubrianna; and his former significant-other Catherine and her sons Michael, Ryan, and Daniel.

Due to COVID restrictions, services will be private. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias. www.nfed.org
