Obituary for Pamela Marie Peoples

A private burial service will be held at the Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette for Pamela Marie Hession Peoples, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, LA from complications due to COVID-19. Deacon Kyle Polozola will officiate the services.

Due to the dangers presented by the current pandemic, a Memorial Mass and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.

Pam was born on September 29, 1955 and was a native of Sunset, LA. After graduating from Sunset High School in 1973, she went on to graduate from Nicholls State University with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1976. She worked as a registered nurse in Franklin, LA and New Orleans. In 1979 Pam was diagnosed with schizophrenia as well as bi-polar disorder. Pam’s journey was a bit unique but served with much purpose. She was outgoing, very generous and never met a stranger. For the past 11 years, she has resided in three different nursing homes and was grateful for the care she received and loved everyone.

Pam had a love for writing stories, especially of her childhood and also painting and creating other artwork. She had a great devotion to Our Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary often each day. She was a true evangelist for the Lord and was always speaking of Jesus to those whom she met.

Survivors include her mother, Ginger Cox Hession Domingue, Lafayette, LA; sisters, Sister Mary Andrew Hession, O.P., Nashville, TN, Charlene Vivlamore, Arlington, TX, and Bonnie Hession, Lafayette, LA; brother, Matt Hession and wife, Marcela, Lafayette, LA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Dennis Peoples; her father, William (Bill) M. Hession, Sr., and her brother, Michael C. Hession.
