Obituary for Alwidia Babineaux
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Alwidia "Weeda" Landry Babineaux , 84, who died on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Mario P. Romero, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her loving husband, Harold Babineaux of Lafayette; two daughters, Kyle Babineaux Schexnayder and her husband, Carl of Arnaudville and Kristy Babineaux LeBlanc of Youngsville; one son, Kevin Babineaux and his wife, Kolette of Youngsville; one sister, Vernic L. Andrus and her husband, John “Snookum” of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Klaire Douet, Lauren Broussard, Jacob Babineaux, Janae’ Hoskins, Jance Babineaux, Shannan Schexnayder and Ryan LeBlanc and seven great grandchildren, Talon Broussard, Brayden Douet, Ava Broussard, Zane Babineaux, Jaxon Douet, Willow Hoskins and Brooklyn Babineaux.
She was preceded in death by parents, Isaac Landry and Monique Landry Duhon; brother, Eric Landry; sister-in-law, Lois Landry and her godchild, Troy Landry.
Weeda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She loved cooking for her family, gardening, shopping and going to the beach during the summer.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Babineaux, Jance Babineaux, Ryan LeBlanc, Jean Douet, Brady Broussard and Tavidee Hoskins.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
