Obituary for Amber Michelle Trahan

Private Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 15th, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette, LA. for Amber Michelle Trahan, 42, who passed away Thursday, May 7th in New Orleans.

Amber was born on March 29th, 1978 in Sheffield, Alabama. She was a long-time resident of Louisiana and also spent many years living in Queens, New York. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person who had a deep faith in God and was a follower of Jesus. Throughout her life she loved to write; her writings kept her grounded, she wrote many stories, and even published her own book. Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time at the beach, traveling and taking road trips. Her greatest accomplishment was her two children, Sadie and Frankie whom she dearly loved.

Amy is free now, no more hardships or suffering. She is now a beautiful angel in heaven. She is finally able to watch over her children and her mother whom she so dearly loved. Fly high and rest in peace sweet Amy, you are loved and missed.

Amy is survived by her Mother and Father, Donna Bierschwale of Butte LaRose and Mitchell “Mickey” Trahan of Lafayette; Her two children, Sadie Abigail Pourcio and Frankie Gabriel Pourcio of Butte LaRose; Her boyfriend of many years, Larry Quates of Slidell; sisters, Erin Malhorin, Chritina Stott, Ella Richard and Sarah Hensley; one brother, Daniel Hensley; her biological mother, Vivian Lynn Bierschwale; her biological father, Ron Thurlow; Aunt Karen Bierschwale and Uncle Russell Freeman; Cousin Ryan Bierschwale and her very dear friend, John Michael Sudol.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hal Ray Bierschwale and Iva Jean Bierschwale, and her uncle, Michael Ray Bierschwale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Amber’s name to the Presbyterian Children’s Home & Services.
