Obituary for Leonila Floreza Magalued

Leonila Floreza Magalued, 63, entered into eternal rest on the evening of November 29, 2019 at 7pm, with her family by her side in South San Francisco, California. Born on Halloween in 1956, she was the youngest daughter of Dr. Francisco Floreza and Leticia Saludares Floreza. Her American father was a US Army Veteran who served in WWII and her Filipina mother was a nurse. Coming from a big family, her childhood began in Lucban, Quezon, a small town with a big heart. When her family moved to Manila, she followed her mother’s footsteps by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Concordia College. Her nursing career started in New York and New Jersey and continued on in San Francisco where she met her husband and started a family. In every place she lived, she gained many close friends who became a part of her extended family. Nila lived a life full of adventure and love. Simple things made her happy may it be dancing to Disco music or shopping. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed preparing meals for others. She was the life of the party. The thoughtful person that she was, she was always there to surprise you. But above all, she had an unwavering faith in God. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, friends and everyone in need including her mother until she passed away at age 94 on December 5, 2017. She will be remembered for her smile, courage, generosity and compassion. Nila is survived by her older sisters, Patsy, Nena and Fely; her younger brother, Boysie; her husband Fred; her two daughters, Francesca and Kristine; and several nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Cypress Lawn in Colma, California.
