Obituary for Miriam Licudine

Miriam "Mae" Licudine was born on January 28, 1962 in Manila Philippines to his loving parents Rhodora and Edilberto Licudine.

She was the eldest of six children.  Her loving siblings include her sisters Arlene Licudine, Mary Rose Licudine-Nicolas, Hazel Licudine, Michelle Licudine-Gonzales, and her only brother Vladymir Joseph Licudine.

Not to forget that she was a wonderful and loving Auntie to Denyce Anne Abrigo, Nicole, Nolan and Nyla Licudine-Gonzales, Monique Adrienne and Chloe Catienza, Camille Licudine-Nicolas, Sydney, Madison, and Ben Barker, Eliana Veronica and Ezekiel Licudine, and Lola "Auntie" to Stella.

 

Mae went to High school at Santa Isabel. In college, she finished her Bachelor of Science in Dentistry at Centro Escolar University, in Manila Philippines.

 

In early 1987, Mae migrated to the United States to join her father Edilberto, and sisters Arlene and Hazel.  In 1988 she joined University of Pacific (UOP) Dentistry at Dugoni School Family.  She worked mainly in the sterilization department,

supporting the main clinic and the oral surgery up until mid this year, 2019.  She was employed at UOP for 31 years where she met a lot of her lifelong friends. The Dugoni School Family describe Mae in an internal memo "as a hard worker, full of personality, vivacious, caring, and generous to others.

She always had kind words to say to everyone. She will be missed seeing her smile and her friendly greetings."

 

Mae is survived by her loving husband, Wenceslao "Wency" Sapon and her two children, Chanelle Sarah Sapon, 15 and Elijah Todd Sapon, 13 whom she loved dearly and worried endlessly of their wellbeing.  Mae and Wency were married on January 20, 1992.  They shared a loving life together as husband and wife for 27 years. Mae had a passion for cooking and feeding friends and family.

You don't leave her house unfed.  She loved to play word games to passed time. She also loved the Korean soap opera.  She was unequivocally candid and straightforward.


Mae battled cancer for 5 years with Wency and her family supporting her.  On Wednesday, November 20th at 1:46 PM she passed away at Mills Peninsula Hospital surrounded by her loving husband Wency, children, Elijah and Chanelle siblings Arlene, Hazel, Michelle, niece Madison, nephew, Ben.
