Obituary for Pedro Chanteu Mendieta

Reflections of Life

Pedro Chanteu Mendieta was born on the evening of Friday, September 5th at San Francisco General Hospital to his parents, Pedro Jose and Irene Amanda Mendieta. The oldest of their two  children. He was baptized at Mission Dolores and confirmed at St. Charles Borromeo of San Francisco.   

Pedro attended St. Charles Borromeo School in San Francisco. He enjoyed playing basketball, video games, ice skating, mountain bike riding, camping, swimming, cooking breakfast and playing tricks on his sister and mom. He loved taking road trips to Santa Cruz, Palm Springs, San Diego, Reno and LA with his mom, sister and cousins. Some traditions on these road trips included having apple pie a la mode at Denny’s, playing chicken fight in the pool and  ending the night watching movies.  Pedro loved vacationing in Cancun, Miami and Hawaii. 

Pedro decided on attending the local high school in Pacifica – Oceana. He learned to drive his freshman year and enjoyed hanging out with his friends at local venues. He enjoyed grilling for family events and snowboarding. Some of his favorite foods were carne  asada, Nicaraguan fried cheese, sweet plantain with sour cream and Chinese food from Eric’s; ending dinner with tres leches or crème brulee always brought a smile to his face. He took family trips to France, Dominican Republic, Miami and Acapulco. 

Pedro attended electrician school, in the process, he acquired a   variety of skills such as carpentry, painting, flooring, plumbing and networking. He started his own startup medical courier services.  After work he would unwind by watching Naked and Afraid, UFC and boxing matches. He created a state-of-the-art gym, where he spent many hours exercising and leading a healthy lifestyle. 

Pedro Chanteu Mendieta passed away on June 14th, 2019 in Twin Falls, Idaho. His kind-hearted spirit will always be remembered. He will be dearly missed by his family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace in the garden of God. God bless Pedro.
