Obituary for Grace W Cody

Grace W. Cody, 66, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, March 14, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Moffit Williams. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School.

She was employed by Jack Rich Inc., Frackville, retiring in 2006.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Pottsville and past president of the Pottsville Football Mothers Boosters Association.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Williams and Donald Williams.

Surviving are her husband, George W. Cody Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 48 years of marriage in December; two sons, George W. Jr. and William "BJ" and a daughter, Debi, all of Pottsville; a brother, Phillip Williams, Reading; three sisters, Sally Blew and Shirley Bradley of Pottsville, and Audrey Hawk, Florida; five grandchildren, Megan Whitecavage, Sammi Cody, Jesse Whitecavage, Nick Cody (Whitecavage) and Billy Cody; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. Storm Hutchinson officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to First United Methodist Church, Fourth and West Market streets, Pottsville, PA, 17901. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
