Obituary for Wilfredo Abuyabor Malibiran

Obituary

Wilfredo “Willy” Malibiran, the eldest son of the late Delfin and Magdalena Malibiran,
was born on April 23, 1957, in Pasig City, Philippines. He attended elementary and high
school at Pasig Catholic College where he was rewarded for his loyalty. He then went on
to Jose Rizal College where he earned his degree of Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration, major in Accounting.
After graduating college, he began his professional accounting career in 1979,
at the Head office of the Family Savings Bank in Makati
where he met his future wife, Maria Jocelyn (Mojica).
In 1982, Willy joined Jocelyn in the United States. In the same year, the two joined
together in civil union. Soon after having their daughter, Jenilee "daddy's girl", in 1985,
they celebrated the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in 1986 at St. Andrew's Catholic
Church in Daly City, California. They were blessed with their son, Brian, in 1987. Willy
worked for the City and County of San Francisco for nearly 29 years.
He retired in January 2015.
Willy had many favorite hobbies - playing Nintendo video games, solving sudoku and
jigsaw puzzles, photography, listening to music, watching movies, and rooting for the
Bay Area sports teams. Willy was an avid wrestling fan who enjoyed watching Dwayne
“The Rock” Johnson both in movies and in wrestling matches. Willy traveled to numerous
places in the United States. He enjoyed the opportunity to go on a European tour with
his family and friends to London, Paris, Switzerland, Italy, and Vatican City. He also
loved travelling on the Princess Cruise line with his family and friends, exploring places
such as Canada, Alaska, and the Caribbean. During his retirement, he and his wife would
spend their time together watching movies and taking walks around the mall.
Willy was an amazing father, who was always generous and loving to his family, always
putting the needs of his family before his own. His self-giving spirit will truly be missed
by all those who knew him.
Willy peacefully departed, to be with the Lord, at Seton Medical Center in
Daly City, California on June 4, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones,
immediate family and relatives.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Jorge (brother), and family and friends
who have passed on before him. He will be missed by a host of loving in-laws, nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
His humble life will forever be cherished by his wife Jocelyn
and children: Jenilee, Brian and Jennie Lyn (daughter-in-law).
