Obituary for Elizabeth I Igtanloc

ELIZABETH IBARDOLAZA-IGTANLOC, also known as “Babeth” or “Beth” was born on January 18, 1942 in Kinalangay Viejo, Malinao, Aklan, Philippines. She is the fourth child among 10 children of Sevedeo Ibardolaza and Precornia Iremedio.

Elizabeth completed her Elementary studies in Kinalangay Elementary School. She finished her Secondary Education at St. Joseph Academy in Malinao, Aklan and graduated in Aklan College, Kalibo, Aklan with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administrationmajor in Accounting. She took the Board Examination for Certified Public Accountant and successfully passed the Licensure Exam.

After passing the CPA Licensure Exam, Elizabeth became a Professor at St. Catherine Military Academy. She also worked in the main office of the Department of Public Work and Highways in Manila. She, then, eventually transferred to Aklan’s Provincial branchof Dept. of Public Work and Highways while at the same time teaching Accounting subjects in her Alma Mater, Aklan College.

Elizabeth was married to Juanito Igtanloc and they were blessed with 3 children, the Eldest is Domingo Eric Igtanloc, their second child and only daughter is Laarni Igtanloc-Samano and Joel Igtanloc being the youngest.

Elizabeth have five (5) grandchildren namely Leslie Tinao Igtanloc & Erika Lane Tinao Igtanloc, both daughters of Domingo Eric; Angelica Igtanloc Samano, is the daughter of Laarni and Chelsea Natal Igtanloc & Jolan Natal Igtanloc (her only grandson), are Joel’schildren.

In 1987, after Elizabeth’s long wait for the approval of her application for Third Preference U.S. Professional Visa she migrated with her family in Sacramento, California, USA to join her relatives and In-laws.

Elizabeth first worked for her sisters-in law (Necita Igtanloc-Ruiz & Mercedes Igtanloc) to help manage their Home Care business in San Francisco until she landed a job in California State Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) Regional Office in Oakland,CA. In 2012, she retired after 15 years of government service at the age of 70.

After her retirement, Elizabeth became active in religious services in her parish church, Our Lady of Perpetual help in Daly City as member of the Legion of Mary, Choir, Eucharistic Minister, and Lector.

Although known to people she had helped, little is mentioned about Elizabeth’s generosity to others such as providing lunches for young school children; donating school supplies to kids in her hometown Kinalangay Elementary School; also giving monetary donationsregularly to Nuns in a monastery in Rosario, Malinao, Aklan to augment the Monastery’s operation and maintenance expenses; and even simply organizing & leading in the prayers for the souls of departed relatives; loved ones; friends or “Kababayan”.
