Obituary for David Barrento Saludo

DAVID BARRENTO SALUDO

           May 1, 1940—May 2, 2019

Born in San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines to Martin Saludo and Esperanza Barrento. The youngest of twelve children. Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Laguna College where he taught high school English until 1974. That same year, he started a new chapter in his life in San Francisco, California. He worked for Bechtle Company, then in a legal office until ten years ago when he retired.

Dave’s lifetime passion was music. An accomplished pianist, he was always drawn to play the piano whenever he saw one. He was a season subscriber to the San Francisco Opera. He also enjoyed the ballet.

His generosity extended beyond his large family. He supported various non-profit organizations and had a heart for the homeless.

For twenty years, he added excitement to family gatherings and Christmas parties tossing coins and bills. He had so much fun seeing the family scrambling and being given the crisp bills he seemed to be always carrying.

He is survived by his sisters Raquel Saludo Esplana and Naomi Saludo Bollinger, brother Isagani Saludo and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews here in the United States, The Philippines, Japan, Australia and London.

Until we meet again!
