Obituary for Elijah James Antone

Elijah James Antone Humphrey, lovingly known as E.J. to his family and friends, was sent to his Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 14th at the hands of senseless gun violence in the City of Vallejo.  E.J. was a San Francisco Bay Area kid just like his parents before him. His mother Bernadette went above and beyond to try to keep him safe in these troubled times we all  find ourselves living in. She supplied him with his every need, loved and cherished him along with the rest of his family. EJ loved music and style, especially when it came to his "gear." When E.J. came around, he had his music blasting, a stylish outfit, and a vivid personality, that attracted anyone towards him, along with a swag that no one could describe.  E.J. was a handsome young man with a smile destined to break many hearts and we loved him dearly. He was a loving and intelligent young man who had a bright future ahead of him but God had another plan set for him.

He is survived by his loving parents Bernadette Aniag and Tyrone Lavar Humphrey, his siblings; Mariah, Tyla, Taniaha and Joshua.  His grandparents; Jesse Aniag & Ramon and Milagros Pabros, Kathryn Hall, his great grandparents Errol and Helen Hall, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  His grandfather Keith Antone Humphrey, great grandmothers Gertha Humphrey and Lanier Hall as well as great grandparents Pedro and Euphemia Dispo and Alexander Aniag, preceded him in going home to the Heavenly Lord.

Whether he was living in Vallejo, Hayward, or visiting family in San Francisco, E.J. left an imprint in everyone’s lives and touched the hearts of those he loved. E.J. had a pure glow within him that no one could take away and lit up the room with his piercing brown eyes and big, goofy smile that made everyone feel at ease. E.J. was loved by all and emitted a shining ray of passionate love through his family and friends that will live on, remembering the legacy that Elijah James Antone Humphrey bestowed upon all of us. Though he has left us in a very heartbreaking and revolting way, he is now in a beautiful place beside our Lord in complete and blissful peace, guiding us as we create the life we know he would’ve wanted.
