Obituary for Leoberta B. Cruzet

Leoberta Bilbaeno Cruzet, known to a lot of her family and friends as either “Berting” or “Betty”, died peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her home in Milpitas, CA at the age of 93.  Betty was born in the Philippines to the late Vicente Bilbaeno and Patricia Corona on April 30, 1925 and a longtime resident of Milpitas, CA.

Survivors include her 5 children, 4 daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, 8 grandchildren, 5 grandchildren-in-law, 4 young great-grandchildren, and lots of loving relatives and close friends.

A loving wife to Lamberto Cruzet, loving mother and grandmother, Betty is also a great homemaker, business woman, and a mentor. Betty was a remarkable cook and enjoyed running her small grocery store/restaurant in the Philippines.  She loved entertaining and preparing meals for her family and friends.  Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite time of the year to showcase all of her favorite recipes, which we missed dearly.  Betty loved music and played, sang and danced to all her favorite Filipino songs in her kitchen.  She had a fashion for sewing and loved sewing matching clothes, curtains, pillowcases and table covers and lastly, enjoyed trying her good lucks at local casinos and buying scratchers until she cannot do it any longer.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days and to those who have offered their thoughts and prayers, and emotional supports.  For those who have known Betty in her fruitful journey with us, please join us in her Funeral Service and Celebration of Life.
