William “Tom” Ward passed away peacefully at Brinton Manor Nursing Home on January 26, 2019 after a short illness. He was 90 years young. Born and raised in Norwood, PA, William attended Glen-Nor High School. He worked for Bell Telephone for 40 years, where he served in many positions, including lineman, installer, and coin center supervisor. After retiring from this career, he began working at Media Florist and delivered flowers for 20 years.
 
William devoted his life to his soulmate, Tillie, who passed away in 2013. They were a well-known couple in Media Borough and at their favorite restaurant, Pinocchio’s, where they often dined for lunch and dinner. Affectionately referred to as “Pops”, he enjoyed his time with family, friends, and beloved pets. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his “big kid” personality, and his kind and gentle soul.
 
William is predeceased by his beloved wife Matilda (nee Warner) and brother Charles. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth Cagle (Don), Nancy Ward (Chris Anderson), and Deborah Clark (Paul Seelaus); son William T. Ward, Jr. (Marie); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and Friends are invited to his Funeral Service Friday February 1,2019 at 10:30 am in First Church Media 350. W. State St. Calling 9:15-10:15 am in Church.
Interment Arlington Cemetery , Drexel Hill.
