Obituary for Romualdo B Malabed

Romualdo Bautista Malabed

 

  Mr. Romualdo Malabed, youngest son of Mauricio Malabed and Felicidad Bautista, step-son to Leoncia Cruzada, younger brother to Ceferino and Roldolpho Malabed, sisters to Felicicima Valenzuela and Fidela Ona and older brother to Flora Masiclat, Erlinda Cabasal and Maria-Corazon Kricken, was born in Ft McKinley, Rizal, Philippines on February 7, 1938.

  The son of a war veteran, he followed his father's footstep by enlisting in the US Army National Guard for over seven years receiving an honorable discharge in 1962.

  It was in 1963, while in Manila, Philippines, he met his one and true love, Leticia Bernandino.  They celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2015 and continued to live happily in their current Daly City home for over 25 years until his passing on Junuary 2, 2019.

  He retired in 1998 after thirty-five years of dedication with the San Francisco Airport Hilton Hotel where he received numerous awards for outstanding service.

  He served his retired years assisting in raising ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

  His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, and their four children, Ray Malabed, Ronald Malabed, Lorna Lusica and Loretta Calixto;  Daughter-in-laws Evelyn and Carmen Malabed, and son-in-law Jorge Calixto; grandchildren Jesika Insisiengmay (wife to Sansilo Insisiengmay), Jazmihn Dumas (wife to Matthew Dumas), Kei-Lani Calixto, Dezirae and Hope Malabed, D'angelo and Denielle Lusica, Matthew Malabed and twins Ariele and Bea Malabed and great grandchild Joseph "BJ" Antoine.
