Hui Fen Lung

 Hui Fen Lung, 86, of San Francisco, CA, passed away on December 13, 2018.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a memorial service on Sunday, December 23, stating at 1PM, at Cypress Lawn at the Noble Chapel, 1363 El Camino Real, Colma, CA 94014 www.cypresslawn.com

 Hui Fen was born in China, on May 7, 1932. She attended the National Taiwan Normal University and graduated in 1954. She started her lecturing career at Tamkang University in Taiwan as a professor of Classical Chinese following her graduation.

 In 1955, Hui Fen married Liang Tung and gave birth to three daughters. In 1973, she embarked on the journey to the United States by herself to begin a new life for her family. She settled first in San Diego, then, Boston and then finally in New York City. She worked in New York City for 2 years, while learning English and getting ready for her family to join her. She reunited with her family in New York in 1975.

 Hui Fen and her family eventually moved to New Jersey and established their home in central Jersey in the Princeton area. Hui Fen continued her academic career as a research librarian at Princeton University Gest Asian Library. Hui Fen was a well-respected member of the library research team because of her deep knowledge of Chinese classical literature. She worked at Princeton University until 2007, for over 30 years.

 Hui Fen and Liang Tung retired in 2008 and settled in San Francisco. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Liang Tung; her brother Alexander, his wife Agnes, her brother Lance and his wife Eliza.  She is also survived by her daughters: Jenny and husband Conrad, Ann and her husband Chris and Rosa and her husband Jay; five grand-children:  Thomas, Steven, Lauren, Joseph, Kelly and Billy.
