Obituary for Natividad Coloma Mateo

On Saturday, November 17, 2017 at 9:15am, Natividad Coloma Mateo, loving wife and mother of two,

grandmother of four, passed away at the age of 89, just a few days shy of 90. Mamang is survived by her

husband Flordelino Mateo, her two children Larry and Emerson, daughter-in-laws Rufina and Malou and

four grandchildren Carmella, Derek, Lorenz and Gerald. She is also survived by her sister Edarlina 

Coloma, Dacio.

Natividad ws born November 28, 1928 in Pissay, Angadanan, Isabela, Philippines. Mamang attended

Pisbakal  Elementary School and Isabela High School. She continued her studies at  llocos Norte Normal

University and Isabela College where she received a B.S. Degree in Education. Mamang's completion  of

college allowed her to pursue her life calling as an elementary school teacher where she taught for 15 years.

Upon finishing  her Master's Degree in the Philippines in the 70's she joined her family in San Francisco

Mamang then found a new career in the Department  of Industrial Relations for the State of California.

After years of being Supervisor  for the Department, Mamang started to build business endeavors with her

husband which led to the opening of Morning Star Residence Nursing Care Home in 1988.

Mamang had a deep passion for family and teaching. She combined both resulting in singing, dancing

knitting, cooking, scrapbooking and gardening . She will be remembered for her infectious smile, quiet

laugh, unbeatable strength and for being the glue to all family members through her self-less acts and

unconditional love.
