Obituary for Gloria M. Maturi

Gloria M. (Lorenzetti) Maturi, 86, of Kutztown, and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she was a resident for two weeks. She was the widow of Walter E. Maturi, who died on February 4, 2009. She was a daughter of  the late Luigi and Anna Lorenzetti. Gloria was a faithful member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, where she enjoyed baking, cooking and making quilts for the annual holiday bazaar. She also taught religion classes at the church. Gloria and her late husband. Walter, owned and operated Victor International Travel Agency in Brooklyn, NY, and she was a homemaker. Gloria spoke fluent Italian and was an excellent caregiver and quilter.

She is survived by a nephew, Lou Lorenzetti, Sr., and his wife, Sue; great-nephew, Lou Lorenzetti, Jr., and his wife, Nicole, and their daughter, Sophia; sister-in-law, Ida Lorenzetti, widow of predeceased brother, Virgil Lorenzetti, and their daughter, Lisa Lorenzetti; cousins, Earlene Bradford, and her companion, Bob Turner, and Helen and Mike Clemson; and her Godchild, Jackie Ward, and her husband, LeRoy; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gloria is also survived by her very close friends, Vince and Ellen Arnold, Elaine Lorenzi, Fred and Pat Pasi, Valetta Eshbach, Kim and Brian Buskirk, and Rachel Massie and family.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road,  Kutztown, with Rev. Monsignor Walter T. Scheaffer, celebrant. Light refreshments will be served following the mass at the church. Burial will be held privately in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.
