Obituary for Carl Calvin Rondinelli

Well loved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Carl Rondinelli, 75, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully at the Olathe Hospice House on August 18, 2018. He bravely battled liver disease for the past two years. He was the son of Joseph Rondinelli and Eileen Cox Rondinelli, born in Denver, Colorado, on June 22nd, 1943. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Wilson, on February 1st, 1964, in Olathe, Kansas. 

He was an owner of Julian Flaming Furniture in Olathe for 18 years and owned Trendsetters Furniture for eight years. He owned Century 21 Assurance Real Estate Group. He was a long time member of the Olathe area Chamber of Commerce. He was the Branch Broker/General Manager/Vice President of the JD Reece/ Reece Nichols Olathe office for 19 years. He owned and operated Re/Max Real Estate Group and was managing Broker of CKR Properties, LLC.

Carl was a member of College Church of the Nazarene for 28 years and served as an usher. He was a member of the Johnson County Board of Realtors, the Kansas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors for over 31 years. He was a past AFS host parent and an Olathe South Band Booster Co-President. He has been a member of Church of the Resurrection for the past 17 years. 

Carl had a definite entrepreneurial spirit and was always willing to help others. He loved traveling with his family and enjoyed fishing. In his business dealings, you would quite often hear him say, “We want to do the right thing!” He was a man of honesty, integrity, optimism and was a person with a loving and giving heart. 

Carl is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Rondinelli, of Olathe; daughter Leesa Palmer and husband Scott Palmer of Colleyville, TX; daughter Gina McBride and husband Matt McBride of Olathe; grandchildren Athena Palmer, Mason McBride, Morgan McBride and Alexander Palmer; honorary daughter Tracey Ballantyne of New Zealand; sister Patricia Cowden; brothers Joseph Rondinelli and Terry Rondinelli. 

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Resurrection - Wesley Chapel, 135th & Roe, on Friday, August 24th, with a visitation from 1-3pm and a service at 3pm.
