Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Ziegler

Elizabeth "Betty" Ziegler, 99, (nee Gallion) of Riddle Village, former longtime resident of Havertown died August 1, 2018.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she had been a resident of Riddle Village for over 20 years. Employed as an Executive Asst to the President of NCR, Betty was an active member of both the Lima United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church of Brookline. A willing volunteer, she served in the church women’s groups and was involved in their visitation ministry.

A member of local Delaware County Bridge clubs, she was an accomplished Contact Bridge enthusiast. Her role as caregiver came naturally to Betty, even in her years at Riddle Village, where she would assist incapacitated residents and provide care. She will best be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother; spending holidays with extended family, creating lasting bonds. In her younger days, she enjoyed travel with her husband Burnell "Bernie" Ziegler, who died in January, 1983.

Survivors: include her son, Scott J. Ziegler, Grandsons, Mathew & Michael Ziegler; nephews and nieces, Jack & Gerri Polhemus, Paul Polhemus, Linda & Ned Ludlow, grandnieces & grandnephews, Rhonda & Fred Rivera, Cheryl & Jim Killeen, Lisa & Ian Smith, Scott & Merri Polhemus, Eric Polhemus.

Service: Visitation 10:30am, Funeral Service 12noon , Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026; where friends may call after.
Interment: Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA 19355
