Obituary for Ethel M. Maute

Ethel M. Maute, age 96, of Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square peacefully passed away on June 16, 2018. She was the devoted wife of the late C. Robert Maute and is survived by her children and their spouses, Karen (John) Callaghan, Cheryl (Richard) Brennan, and David (Robin) Maute; by 8 grandchildren; and by 2 great-grandchildren.
Ethel was born in Creamery, PA in 1922 to Oswin and Ellen Freed, and graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School. While she spent a bulk of her life as a homemaker, she was also a seamstress at the Collegeville Flag Company. Ethel was an active member of Marple Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and sang in the choir for many years. She also loved baking, gardening, and enjoying time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., Marple Presbyterian Church, 105 N. Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA, 19008, where friends and relatives will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment in Philadelphia Memorial Park will follow the service.
