Obituary for Jeannine G. Bortz

Jeannine G. (Strausser) Bortz, 89, formerly of Kutztown and Fleetwood, died Monday, June 18, 2018, in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown, where she was a resident since September 2016.  She was the widow of Carl H. Bortz, who died August 9, 1999.  Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Mark R. and Edna I. (Fox) Strausser.  Mrs. Bortz was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown. Jeannine was employed as a laborer at the former Kutztown Shoe Company, Kutztown, from 1948 until 1972.  She then worked as a School Guard for Kutztown Borough from 1978 until her retirement in 1991.  Jeannine was a 1946 graduate of Hamburg High School, Hamburg, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 839, Kutztown.

There are no immediate survivors.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Jennifer M. Bannerman, officiating.  Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.  Relatives and friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
