Obituary for Jeffrey Kishiyama

He was born on December 29, 1961 to Sam and Mary Ann Kishiyama.  He spent his childhood growing up in Denver, CO as the oldest of three boys. Jeff graduated from Manual High School in 1980.

He then went on to attend Stanford University from 1980-1984, and graduated with a degree in Biology and Economics.  He later obtained his Medical Degree from Creighton University School of Medicine on Omaha, NE.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.  Jeff went on to complete a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at UCSF.  Jeff spent many years on the faculty of UCSF and Stanford, where he served various positions as the Director of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory, Director of the Clinical Allergy/immunology in the Department of Medicine, and Director of the UCSF Stanford Allergy / Immunology training program. In addition, he joined the practice at the Allergy Asthma Associates of Northern California, where he treated patients for 16 years.

On May 4, 1996, he married Annie Wong. Together, they had three sons, Jeffrey, Bradley, and Spencer. Jeff loved spending time with his family, especially going on family outings and adventures as well as sharing his viewpoints and stories. He also enjoyed spending his free time talking about the Broncos and watching sports (two-time champion of the Kishiyama Fantasy Football League), listening to and collecting music, and reading and mastering the techniques of fly fishing and golfing.

We all cherish fond memories of the special moments of laughter and joy in all the family activities we shared.

In lieu of flowers, Jeff would appreciate a donation to the Okizu Organization -

Okizu.org, to support families with childhood cancer.
