Obituary for George T Wadas

Geo. T. Wadas Dies - Upper Darby Aide

George T. Wadas, a member of the Upper Darby Commision for 30 years, died yesterday at his home, 8144 West Chester Pk., after a long illness. He was 73.

Two weeks ago, Cyrus F. Agney, another member of the commission, and Republican leader of the 1st ward, died of a heart attack in the Delaware County Court House at Media.

A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Wadas moved to Upper Darby half a century ago. From 1920 to 1928 he was county controller and for the past 28 years had been president of the Highland Park Fire Company No. 1. He was formerly a member of the Upper Darby School Board, and was a member of the Masons and Odd Fellows.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Chamberlain, and Miss. Grace Wadas, and four grandchildren.
