Obituary for Percy Gustavo Ramos

Born in Lima, Peru on July 14, 1958, Percy Gustavo Ramos began his journey through life.  He was the second of four children of Mr. Jorge Ramos and his wife Rosario. As a child, Mr. Ramos resided in the country's chief seaport city of Callao, Peru. Jorge, a hard working man, raised his four children in a very disciplined way.  It was from here that Percy learned much of his values.

After leaving home, he yearned to get a college education.  He enrolled at Federico Villareal University. He graduated from said institution in 1985 with a bachelor's in Accounting.

On October 28, 1983, Mr. Ramos married Ethel Aldana. They had three children: Percy Luis, Andrea Rosario, and Irene Giuliana.

Percy was the head of his household and main provider for his family. He went on to work for several financial institutions, later in his career became a stock broker at Lima Stock Exchange. He moved to the United States in 1999 at the age of 41.

Once, he separated from his previous wife, he met Angie Diaz through a dating site. They begun their relationship long distance, as she lived in the city of Los Angeles and he lived in San Francisco. After a 5 year relationship they were married on July 9th, 2010 in San Francisco, California, which became their permanent residence.

While in the US, Percy worked as a property manager at Hibernian Construction company where he managed 5 large multi-unit buildings.

He was a devoted, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and husband. He was very passionate about sports, and you could find him in the soccer field playing as a goalkeeper, where he won several seasonal championships, including a trophy for “fewest goals scored against”. Percy was a delightful man, with an amazing sense of humor. He had the ability to instantly connect with people and often his sense of humor would fill rooms with laughter. He was a kind man, who could accomplish anything he set his mind to do, and always made his loved ones his number one priority. We will miss his delightful candor and will remember the wonderful times we had together. Percy G. Ramos will always have a special place in our hearts.

Mr. Ramos was preceded in death by his father, Jorge (affectionately known as Mito). He is survived by: his siblings, Jorge, Rosario, and Walter; his beloved mother Rosario; his children Percy, Andrea and Irene; his grandson Israel Ramos; his wife Angie Ramos and step-daughter Angie Apolinario.

Rather than mourn the death of Mr. Ramos, he wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life. He was called to God's presence peacefully on May 8th, 2018 at home, surrounded by all of his loved ones at his bedside in San Francisco, California.
