Obituary for George Renker

George Renker, a 92 year old Seymour resident and husband to the late Ruth Springer Renker, entered into eternal rest May 10. He was born May 6, 1926 in Derby, son of the late Frederick “Fritz” Renker and Freda Heine Renker. George graduated from Ansonia High School, Class of ’44. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII. He graduated from UCONN and the University of Bridgeport, and worked for Avco- Textron in Stratford. He was a member of the former George Washington Masonic Lodge and the Fountain Hose Fire Co., both in Ansonia. He was a lifelong member of the Seymour Methodist Church. George was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies as well as a lifetime Red Sox fan, but nothing was more important to him than his beautiful, loving wife Ruth. He leaves two sons Jeffrey Renker of Seymour & David Renker and George Renker and his  wife Victoria Renker of New Hampshire, his sister-in-law Jean Walkinshaw of Seymour, 6 grandchildren, Kristi McGowan, Kaitlyn Smock, and Kyle, Tess, Caroline and Michael Renker, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son Christopher. Friends may call on Monday, May 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinsking.com) Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment following in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
