Obituary for Katharine Lee Wheatley

  On May 27, 2018 of Charleston, SC, died in her home. Known as Kai to her family and friends, she will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, quick smile and kind heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Lee Wheatley and Katharine Ann “Kitty” Kane; three aunts, June Vega (Mickey), Betty Kane Higgins (Robert Lewis), Roberta Louise Kane Hufty (Lawrence Hufty & Richard “Dick: Wheatley); two cousins: Kimilee Kane Wheatley Huntt and Robert Andrew Higgins.
She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Rose Wheatley (Barry Yates), Margaret Susan Rowell (Christopher – deceased); a niece Kirsten Rowell Saaty (Evan); a great nephew Benjamin James Saaty (born May 26, 2018) and beloved cousins Bonnie Bailey, Michael Vega (Julie), Amy Vega and many other family members.
Friends and family will be contacted privately for service details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phoenix Rising Border Collie Rescue; Prevent Cancer Foundation; or a charity of your choice.
