Obituary for Patricia "Bunny" McShea

Beloved wife of William McShea, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the age of 81. She was born to Mary Elizabeth and Gerard Morgan Weber on December 3, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. Bunny graduated from Catherine McAuley High School, and received a full scholarship to attend St Joseph College in Emmitsburg, MD in 1958, where she received a double major in Mathematics and Education. She met the love of her life, Bill, at age 14, and they were married in July 1959. Their romance lasted 67 years.

She is survived by Colleen (Jim) Friedrich of Salem OR; Mary Sue (Jon) Englund of Arlington, VA, Ann Marie (Phil) Borkowski of Arlington, VA and Bill (Kim) McShea of Springfield, VA. Also she survived by seven grandchildren.

Bunny was a teacher and home maker with an amazing zeal for life. She loved music and dancing, played and taught piano, loved to travel and had an insatiable desire to learn. Bunny always looked at the upside of life, saying "You can do anything you want to do!". She was an inspiration to all who knew her. A devout Catholic, Bunny lived her life in service to her family, church, and community.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA 22302. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 24 at 10 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA 22302, with interment immediately following at Ivy Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JDRF at jdrf.org or the charity of your choice.
