Obituary for Carolyn C. Bringhurst

BRINGHURST, Carolyn Carter, 82, died Saturday, April 7, 2018. Carolyn is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, VA (1953), Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1957), and the Graduate School of Duke University (1962). She also received a degree from the College of Information Studies of Drexel University (1989).

After working in the pharmaceutical industry for a number of years, Carolyn married and had two daughters. Carolyn worked in medical and technical writing after returning to the workforce in 1982 until her permanent retirement in 2008, holding positions with the College of Physicians in Philadelphia as the Director of Scientific Services and with the Unisys Corporation as a Product Information Analyst/Senior Technical Writer.

Carolyn enjoyed travel, skiing, and competitive tennis, and was a participant and active board member of the Main Line Ski Club, serving as editor of the MLSC newsletter Ski Tracks from 2004 to present.  She also loved animals, reading and telling stories with her friends and neighbors.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters Julia Lee Bringhurst and Amanda Carter Bringhurst and her first cousin in Williamsburg VA, Margaret Wilkins.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21st at Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, 1361 E. Boot Road, West Chester, PA  19380
