Obituary for Marjorie Hawks Lane

Marjorie Hawks Lane age 102, wife of the late Joseph Lane and lifelong Ansonia resident until moving to Shelton four years ago, passed away at Hewitt Health Center March 30. She was born in Derby, daughter of the late Walter & Alice Barrows Hawks. She would have turned 103 on April 18. Marjorie worked as a secretary for the former Ansonia Wire Co. She was a lifelong member and greeter at The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia, where she had been the oldest member. She was active in her love of gardening until the age of 97. She leaves her brothers Warren Hawks & wife Nancy of Burlington, CT and Gerald Hawks & wife Rose of Ansonia, and sister Evelyn Guluzzi & husband Michael of Charlotte, N.C., and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers Donald, Floyd, Theodore & Kenneth Hawks. Friends may call at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT on Tuesday, April 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ( w w w.jenkinsking.com ) Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 47 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
