Obituary for Dorothea S. Shockley

Dorothea Sadie (nee Tyler) Shockley, 94, of Newtown Square, PA, died March 30, 2018 at home.

Born and raised in Darby, she had formerly been a resident of Lansdowne and Lewes DE before moving to Newtown Square in 2003. A graduate of Darby High School, class of '41, she was known as "Darby Dot".

While living in Lansdowne she had been a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Dorothea was a loving wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than offering love and encouragement to all who came through her door. She loved to cook, bake and entertain. Her specialty was cakes.  

Dot enjoyed the shore, especially Ocean City NJ. She was the beloved wife of the late George who died in 1996, Survivors: daughters,Diane (James) Bower and  Donna (Charlie) Vile; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren

Service: Funeral Service will be 11AM Monday, April 9, 2018, at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington.

Visitation: Monday, April 9, 2018, 10:00AM-11:00AM

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026
