Obituary for Alexander Hamill Campbell

Alexander H. “Sandy” Campbell, 92, husband of the late Jean E. (O’Neill) Campbell, Collegeville, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at Phoenixville Hospital.

He was a former resident of New Holland and Whitemarsh Twp. Mr. Campbell was born on August 16, 1925, in Finvoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, to the late Robert and Catherine (Hamill) Campbell.

He served in the US Army, in Korea, during the Korean War. Before retiring Mr. Campbell worked for Smith, Kline, & French, in Philadelphia and Upper Merion Twp. Mr. Campbell was a devoted member of 1st Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his children, Dr. Donald A., husband of Mary Ann (Marcenelle) Campbell, Hickory, NC, and Nancy J., wife of William J. Plichta, Trappe; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, at the Williamsburg Chapel in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, with the Rev. Peter Martin, Pastor, and the Rev. Paul Toms, retired pastor, 1st Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Monday, at the Williamsburg Chapel in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA. 19026.
