Obituary for David J. Kutz Sr.

David J. Kutz, Sr., 52, of Richmond Township, died suddenly Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was taken after being stricken in his home.  He was husband of Lisa D. (Buckwalter) Kutz., whom he married May 6, 1995.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of Doris A. (Meals) Kutz, Kutztown, and the late John E. Kutz, Jr.  David was a member of Becker's Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

David was employed as a maintenance mechanic for over 26 years, at Lehigh-Hanson, Inc., Cement and Slag Plant, Evansville.  David was a member and past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 839, Kutztown, having served his presidency during 1996-1997.  He was also a member of Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, Kutztown, Kutztown Fire Company, and Reading Motorcycle Club, Oley.  David enjoyed the open road, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle or driving and tinkering on his 1954 Chevy pickup truck.  Most important to David was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 22 years, Lisa, and his mother, Doris, David is survived by a son, David J. Kutz, Jr. and a daughter, Rebecca J. Kutz, both at home.  Other survivors include a sister, Lori A. Kutz, Arizona; a brother, Allen J. Kutz, Kutztown. He is also survived by his father-in-law, William Buckwalter; sisters-in-law, Denise L. (DeMarco) widow of Timothy L. McNees, Quakertown; Donna L. (Buckwalter) wife of John Krause, King of Prussia; brother-in-law, SSgt William P. Buckwalter, U.S. Marine Corps, Ret., Revloc, Cambria County.

A funeral service to celebrate David's life will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Deacon Linda Zawaski, officiating. Interment will follow in Becker's Saint Peter's Cemetery, Fleetwood (Richmond Township). Relatives and friends may call on Monday evening, March 26, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
