Obituary for Frank Henry Mustin

MUSTIN, Frank Henry, 94, of Lansdowne, PA, died Sunday, March 11, 2018. He was born the son of Gilbert B. and J. Alice (nee Fleer).  He attended Swarthmore College and graduated in 1944 with a bachelors of science degree in engineering. He served in the US Navy for two years at the end of World War II. He and Janet Stanley were married in 1945. After this, he began working at the family business, the Fleer Corporation, the manufacturers of America’s first and favorite bubble gum, Fleer’s Dubble Bubble. After the death of his father, Frank became the director of the international branch of Fleer, and Gilbert Jr., his brother, ran the national company. He established factories in West Germany and Spain and partnerships in many parts of the world. After his brother retired, he took on the management of the entire company and the popular Fleer Baseball Cards. Frank loved to play golf, ski, and was an avid windsurfer into his his 80’s! He was much loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.  He is predeceased by his wife, Janet, and survived by his three daughters: Virginia Mustin Gourlie (Brian), Sarah Mustin (Craig Stockwell), Emily Mustin Nicholson (Bill), eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
