Obituary for John F. Hentz

HENTZ, John F., 87, of Bryn Mawr, PA, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Beaumont Retirement Community. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Tucker and Peter; daughter-in-law, Sheila; and grandaughter, Tracy. A graduate of Episcopal Academy and Wesleyan University, he worked most of his career for Xerox Corporation in both Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John was active in racquet sports throughout much of his life as a member of the Merion Cricket Club, and he won the national squash doubles championship with G. Diehl Mateer four times in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. John was also an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed many springs and summers fishing the wild lakes and brooks of Nova Scotia. Memorial service at Beaumont Retirement Community, 77 Middle Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 7, 2018. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the World Wildlife Fund.
